FAQ
Is CYIA right for me?
There are three questions you can ask yourself to determine if CYIA is for you:
· Do you want to impact your community for Christ?
· Do you like working with other teens who love Christ?
· Do you want to do something with your summer that will make an eternal difference?
If so, then CYIA might be right for you!
Who can attend CYIA?
Christian teens who want to serve God. Students must be at least 13 and going into 8th grade through high school. Students, age 12, may apply to enter as a “Level Blue” to receive part of the training.
Where is CYIA held?
This year we have the amazing pleasure to be hosted by Umpqua Valley Christian School in Dixonville (just East of Roseburg). We choose to do our CYIA training locally to better serve you, the students!
How much does CYIA cost?
Before February 15th, 2025: $150 (plus $25 your first year for required T-shirts)
After February 15th: $175 (plus $25 your first year for required T-shirts). Fundraising options are available including the popcan drive, serving at the CEF Spring Fundraiser event, and working in the CEF office. This fee includes $50 registration fee due when application submitted (refundable until May 17th), food, teaching kit, and training materials.
What will I be learning to teach?
You will teach a 5-Day Club during the week of CYIA, and three more in your local community throughout the summer. You will also have opportunities to serve at other CEF programs during the summer and school year.
What is Pre-Training?
Because there is so much to learn and training week is only 7 days, we have a mandatory one day training prior to the camp. This year it is May 17th, 2024 at Melrose Community Church 8:30am-5:30pm. If you are unavailable, there are options for a make up.
I’m ready! What are the steps to joining CYIA?
Pray about it then apply online (see below). Applications are due May 17th. Once your application is complete, Mariah will reach out to you to schedule your interview. This will be a time for us to make sure you are ready to take on the challenge of CYIA and a time for you (and your parent(s)) to ask any questions you still have.
Training Camp 2025 Application
$50 deposit by card is required with application. If you are paying with other means, please contact with CEF office for a special link.
